When you call for a tow
- Get the truck as far off the road as you safely can, flashers on, triangles out.
- Give your exact location: Thruway mile marker and direction, or the street and nearest cross street.
- Tell the shop the truck type, whether a trailer is attached and loaded, and what happened.
Sometimes a tow is not needed
A dead battery, an air line off, a lockout or a single bad tire can often be handled where the truck sits. See roadside truck repair around Utica for what can be fixed on the shoulder.
Where the tow goes
Trucks are towed to 2256 Broad St in Frankfort, about 3 miles east of downtown Utica, where the repair can start right away. The cost is agreed with you before the tow.
